The Heart Behind Ink & Altar

Ink & Altar was born out of survival, surrender, and sacred fire.

My name is Tabitha McClish, and I’m a psalmist, storyteller, survivor, and truth-teller. After years in the shadows of trauma, religion, and silence, I discovered that God wasn’t afraid of my pain, He was sitting in the middle of it, waiting to turn it into worship.

This is more than a blog or a collection of songs.
It’s a house of freedom.
A place where the silenced can speak.
Where faith is raw, worship is real, and healing doesn’t hide.

Every word shared here is ink spilled in surrender-laid on the altar of a God who still moves, still mends, and still calls the broken beloved.

I’m a wife, mother, psalmist, survivor, and songwriter who believes in the healing power of God’s presence, the beauty of broken things, and the God who turns pain into praise. After walking through trauma, silence, and spiritual warfare, I surrendered it all-and what poured out was worship.
